JANUARY

January

January brings a fresh new year

Will it be better than those before

Hopes rise to quench an inner fear

That sometimes knocks upon our door

Skeletons of our past mistakes

Jangle their background tale of woe

Hope searches for just what it takes

To guide us in which way to go

What problems we must overcome

Loom like shadows from the past

We need help now and finding some

Must be our motive first and last

The choice may not be easy to make

But we must make it just the same

And give our thanks for what we have

To God in Jesus our Saviour's name
