HIS STARS

HIS STARS

How brightly shone those orbs of light,
against the blackness of the night.
Those stars, He named them one by one,
the Holy Word, God's only Son.

The angel choirs announced with joy
the earthly birth of heaven's Boy.
A myriad stars heard what they said,
one Star alone watched oe'r His bed.

He knelt and prayed with anguished cries,
His stars gazed down with helpless eyes.
Muffled footsteps, flick'ring light,
one kiss that sealed His fate that night.

No stars to watch His agony,
those stumbling steps to Calvary.
Crude nails, persistent hammer's blow,
near death - His Father let Him go.

The morning stars before the day,
watched as the stone was rolled away.
Mid rainbow hues, He walks once more-
The Crucified - now RISEN!
The Crusified - now RISEN!
