Dilhorne Methodist Church:

Dilhorne

Dilhorne Methodist Church is situated at Godley Brook, Dilhorne, Staffordshire.

The Church was built in 1816 and is of brick and tile construction with a Sunday School being added to the building in 1928.   Dilhorne itself is a small village to the east of Cheadle, with the Methodist Church serving the local rural farming community.   Despite being almost 200 years old, the Chapel offers both traditional and modern services.

IpstonesMethodistChurch has been a part of the community of Ipstones  since 1861.    143 Years later,  Methodism in Ipstones is alive and  well!     Our church    family is made  up of people from 3 months of age to 90+.   Methodists have been active in Ipstones since about 1790 in both the Wesleyan and Primitive varieties,  but the congregation received a boost in the in the 1850's during a mining boom which brought many miners to the village.

There are also mid-week meetings in the more relaxed settings of peoples homes where we come together to grow in fellowship with God and each other.    These are fun and exciting times of sharing together and                encouraging each other in our journy with the Lord.

The church has been  extensively modernised in recent years and is now  the home to a lively and forward thinking  congregation.   Our focus is on faith,  fellowship, friendship and fun.    We   meet each Sunday at 10:30am for    worship where we value the use of contemporary worship songs and traditional hymns.    We also value the work of the holy Spirit in our midst and we seek to be open to all that the Lord wants to impart to us by way of the gifts, offices and fruit of the Spirit.
